When I was a child I had the sweetest dog. Her name was Sugar. She was a beautiful, intelligent, lovable mutt. I adored her and was charmed by her personality. To me she was a person, not merely a pet. I called her my sister, my playmate, my best friend. When I went to school I missed my dog. One day during class I attempted to bring her to life by drawing her on paper...and thus began a life-long obsession with doodling. The doodles were all of dogs with varying emotional expressions. Like my real dog, their adorable faces made me smile and relieved me from boredom and loneliness. I discovered that whenever I wanted, I had a lovable companion literally at my fingertips. Over the years, hundreds of "doggie doodles" have emerged through my pen, amusing me and keeping me company. Later "kitty doodles" were born.
Each doggie doodle and kitty doodle has a name and personality and many are paired with witty captions that make a statement and convey a double entendre.
Whether in the form of whimsical line art or a full color painting of someone's beloved pet, each doggie doodle and kitty doodle is an expression of joy and is inspired by love.
May the doodles bring as many smiles to your face as they do to mine.
